Cloudflare covers almost every edge case—CDN, WAF, bot management, workers, you name it. The one glaring hole is native email security. We still need a separate email security gateway for phishing and malware. It would be nice if they offered a first-party solution here. Still, as a core security layer for web properties, it’s outstanding.

We put all our sites behind Cloudflare and instantly saw reductions in spam traffic and random bot hits. The WAF rules and DDoS protection work quietly in the background. DNS is blazing fast, and we get basic protection for free on smaller sites. The Zero Trust tools for securing internal apps are an added bonus.

We use Cloudflare for several domains, and the depth of options is both a blessing and a curse. The dashboard mixes older and newer interfaces, and it’s easy to get lost between DNS, Zero Trust, Workers, and security tabs. If you only use the basics it’s fine, but managing a complex setup is not as straightforward as it could be.
