Clio has become the central hub for my practice. I can see matters, documents, time entries, and billing all in one place. The integrations with Outlook and QuickBooks work very smoothly, and the client portal has cut our email back-and-forth in half. Their new AI assistant that suggests tasks and drafts emails is surprisingly useful for routine follow-ups. Once you set up your workflows, it really does save hours every week.

Once we got through implementation, Clio has been fine. But the onboarding process was much more work than we expected—importing legacy data, customizing fields, and training staff all took weeks. A few glitches early on (duplicate matters, missing contacts) didn’t inspire confidence. To their credit, support helped fix things, but smaller firms should budget a lot of time to get fully switched over.

As a mid-size firm, we love Clio’s case and billing features. Time tracking, LEDES billing, and online payments are all rock solid. Where it falls short is advanced reporting; building nuanced financial or productivity reports requires awkward workarounds or exports to Excel. For everyday operations it’s great, but partners want more detailed analytics out of the box.
