Gong generates a massive amount of data. If you don't have managers who are dedicated to using it for coaching and deal reviews every week, it just becomes a very expensive recording library. The tool is only as good as the process you build around it. It's not a silver bullet.

As a sales rep, the insights from Gong are powerful. I can re-listen to my own calls to see where I went wrong. However, knowing my manager can scrutinize every word I say adds a layer of pressure. It's a powerful tool for performance, but it requires a culture of trust, not micromanagement.

Gong has completely changed how I coach my sales team. I can listen to calls, see what topics were discussed, and jump directly to key moments. I can identify what my top performers are doing differently and replicate it. The deal intelligence, which flags at-risk deals, is scarily accurate. It's expensive, but the ROI is undeniable.
