Even on the Starter plan, the automation capabilities blow Mailchimp out of the water. Being able to tag users based on link clicks and trigger specific follow-up sequences has doubled our email engagement. The visual automation builder is intuitive once you learn the logic. It's definitely more of a 'pro' tool, so expect a learning curve, but the power you get is incredible.

I just wanted to send a monthly newsletter and maybe a welcome email. ActiveCampaign felt like flying a spaceship to go to the grocery store. The interface is cluttered with CRM features and complex automation options I didn't need. I found myself spending hours trying to figure out simple tasks. If you aren't a power user, look elsewhere.

ActiveCampaign is incredibly feature-rich. We use it for complex nurture campaigns and it works perfectly. However, the platform itself can feel sluggish. Loading reports or opening large contact lists takes longer than it should. The email builder is decent but feels a bit dated compared to newer tools. Still, for the functionality you get, it's the best value in the market.
