The ad-free experience is so much better. The 'Meal Scan' feature is surprisingly good at guessing what's on my plate. I like the ability to set different macro goals for workout days vs rest days. It keeps me disciplined. The yearly subscription is much more reasonable than monthly.

I upgraded to Premium mostly to get the barcode scanner back after they moved it behind the paywall. Honestly, it's worth it for the convenience. The macro tracking by gram (instead of percentage) is also key for my diet. The database is huge, though sometimes inaccurate because of user-submitted data. It helps me stay on track.

I used MFP for years when it was free. The Premium price has hiked up to $20/month, which is insane for a calorie tracker. There are apps like Lose It! or Cronometer that offer similar features for half the price or free. The app also feels bloated with 'articles' and upsells. I cancelled and haven't looked back.
