For simple blogs or portfolios, it's amazing. But when we built a complex e-commerce site with many nested relations and localization, Strapi started to struggle. The API response times slowed down, and the admin panel got laggy with thousands of entries. We had to spend a lot of time optimizing the database queries manually.

Strapi gives me full control. I can define my content types in minutes and get a REST or GraphQL API automatically. The admin panel is clean and easy for my clients to use. Being open-source means I can host it myself on DigitalOcean for cheap, which saves my clients hundreds of dollars compared to Contentful.

We use Strapi Cloud because we didn't want to manage servers. It works perfectly—fast, reliable, and zero maintenance. However, the pricing is quite steep compared to self-hosting. You pay a premium for the convenience. Support on the cloud plan is excellent, though.
