We manage 50+ writers. Before Originality.ai, we had no way to know who was just using ChatGPT. Now we require a scan report. The ability to scan for plagiarism AND AI in one go is efficient. It has saved us from publishing low-quality AI fluff. It's getting better at distinguishing nuanced AI usage too.

It catches blatant AI copy 100% of the time. But it also flags my own human-written content as AI sometimes, especially if I write in a formal tone. It's a useful tool for checking freelancers, but you have to use your judgment. You can't treat its score as absolute proof.

I'm a professional writer and it flagged an article I wrote from scratch in 2018 as 80% AI. How is that possible? Tools like this are making clients paranoid and forcing writers to 'dumb down' their writing so it doesn't sound like a bot. I stopped using it because the results felt random.
