Review for: GrowthBook

Fantastic support from the founders

One of the best things about GrowthBook is the community. The founders are active in the Slack channel and are incredibly responsive to feedback and bug reports. It feels like we're partners, not just customers. The tool is solid, but the community makes it a long-term choice for us.

Review for: Linktree

Good, but you can build your own for free

It's a convenient tool, but at the end of the day, it's just a simple landing page with links. If you have your own website, you can create a similar page yourself and have more control over the branding and analytics. You're paying for convenience.

Review for: Aragon AI

Best of the AI headshot generators

I tested HeadshotPro, Secta, and Aragon. Aragon gave me the most 'human' looking eyes and skin. The lighting didn't look fake. It's definitely the leader in this space right now. Just make sure you upload very clear, varied selfies for the best results. It's not magic, but it's close.

Review for: Pinecone

The standard for vector search

We migrated from a self-hosted FAISS setup to Pinecone and haven't looked back. It's fully managed, so we don't worry about scaling or uptime. The latency is incredibly low for our RAG application. The 'serverless' pricing model is great because we only pay for what we use, rather than provisioning huge instances.

Review for: Figma

The backbone of our product design process

Figma has completely transformed how our product, engineering, and marketing teams collaborate. Real-time multiplayer editing and comments make design reviews painless. Components and variants allow us to maintain a robust design system across projects. It’s the first tool I open every morning.

Review for: Ably Realtime

Rock-solid infrastructure for realtime apps

We migrated from a self-hosted WebSocket solution to Ably and the stability improvement was immediate. The guaranteed message delivery and ordering features saved us weeks of engineering time. Their client libraries are very well maintained across different languages (we use JS and Python). The 'presence' feature works flawlessly for showing who is online. Support has been very responsive whenever we had questions about scaling.

Review for: CarePredict @Home

Great tech, but hard to get mom to wear it

The technology works well when used. The dashboard shows great data on sleep and activity. The problem is the 'Tempo' wristband is large and ugly. My dad hates wearing it and takes it off constantly, defeating the purpose. They need to make the hardware more discreet like a Fitbit or Apple Watch.

Review for: Signal

Great, but the username feature was a misstep

I love Signal for its privacy, but the recent push to usernames instead of phone numbers has been confusing for my non-technical contacts. The implementation felt a bit clunky. I understand the goal, but it added a layer of friction to what was a very simple app. Still the best option for privacy, but not as simple as it used to be.
